DC Public Library's (DCPL's) Office of Procurement aims to provide value added professional procurement services to meet agency goals while promoting an open and fair competitive process for the acquisition of services and goods, to the greatest extent possible. They are committed to acting, in accordance with best practices and all legal and statutory requirements, as a leader among service providers - recognized for innovative and high-quality, cost-effective approaches to meeting and exceeding internal and external customers' expectations.

DCPL's procurement team purchases services and goods for all 26 library locations within the District of Columbia. While DCPL has independent procurement authority, it follows both the Procurement Practices Reform Act of 2010 and Title 27 of the District of Columbia Municipal Regulations (27 DCMR). The procurement team works diligently to provide value-added internal and external customer support, while simultaneously expanding procurement opportunities for certified business enterprises (CBEs) and all other interested contractors.  DCPL Procurement acquires a wide array of procurements for services and goods, ranging from capital construction services to office supplies and furniture to a myriad of facilities management services.  Year to date, DCPL Procurement has acquired over $21M in services, goods and construction.
