laser cutter projects

Laser Cutting Certification

Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library - Central Library

Join us in MLK's Fab Lab and learn how to use our laser cutter! This class will go over the basics of laser cutting, safety procedures, and the required software (Adobe Illustrator). Students will then be required to design and successfully cut a simple .svg file. Previous knowledge of design software is recommended.

Story Time: Jerry Pinkney

Parklands-Turner Library

In honor of Black History Month, the Parklands-Turner library will host a special story time and information display featuring books written and illustrated by Jerry Pinkney. Jerry Pinkney is an African American author and illustrator who has been the recipient of five Caldecott Honor Medals, five Coretta Scott King awards, and four Coretta Scott King Honor awards. The Parklands-Turner library staff is excited to share these wonderful works at Children's story time on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at 10 a.m.
