UNCENSORED:Un-shushable Storytime

DC Public Library encourages everyone to exercise their freedom to read whatever they choose!  Join us for our "Un-shushable Story time" consisting of frequently-challenged, diverse children's books that some people have tried to censor and accompanying activities as we conclude our celebration of American Library Association's (ALA) Banned Books Week!  *This program perfect for children under age 9 and their caregivers.

A challenged book - subject matter or content is viewed unacceptable by a person or group of people attempting to get a book removed from a library or school . Banning is an attempt to remove or restrict access to materials. Read these challenged books and watch the movie adaptations at the Dorothy I. Height (Benning Neighborhood) Library during Banned Book Week on September 26 - October 1, 2016. For ages 9-12

Join us in the Children's Room to watch "Goosebumps", a movie about a boy who moves to a new town and discovers his new neighbor, Mr. Shivers, has some dangerous secrets. The movie is based on the popular spooky series by R.L. Stine and is being shown in honor of Banned Books Week
