A panther leads a human boy on a trek through the jungle in order to reunite him with his kind. Along the way, the boy encounters a lazy bear, a devious snake and an orangutan who dreams of controlling fire. Weekly chess instruction on Thursdays at 5 p.m. This program is for children of all ages who want to learn to play or improve their chess moves and play in tournaments. Our chess instructor will teach the chess players how to think and plan their next move and use their brain power to win. Come and join our Chess group and learn to make a risky move, Check, Mate, and have fun. This program is made possible by the Friends of the Chevy Chase Library. All Ages.

The Parklands-Turner Neighborhood Library has a terrific collection of comic books and graphic novels.  Each month, library staff will select a popular title for you to enjoy. Children are encouraged to visit and read in the library, or check out the selected comics on display.  Better still, kids can select any comic titles from any library across the city and have them delivered to Parklands-Turner, especially for you!
