Happy Mardi Gras!

On Saturday the Children's room celebrated Mardi Gras. Children and their parents started arriving at 1 p.m., and naturally the first thing to do was to make masks and crowns (heavy on the glitter!).
While waiting for the glitter and glue to dry, the people feasted on a special treat called a king cake. A king cake is a type of coffee cake with cinnamon and often has a filling, which can include such items as cream cheese, jam, nuts and raisins. Once the tummies were full, it was time to create "floats" out of book carts. Check out the pictures below, and watch the YouTube video.
