Doggie Diaries: Adventures at the Library
From Leo’s Diary: Tuesday, May 17, 2011
What a lovely library! It was my first time at the Takoma Park Library, and it is doggone charming. I played it cool… though I was drooly with excitement to see Miss Julie in her new library. I hadn’t seen her in months!
There was another PAL dog in the library, Bailey, whom I had never met before. She was a darling dog.
The children seemed impressed to hear that I am an expert swimmer, a pro at the doggie paddle. I hope to improve my strokes by reading Swimming by Clive Gifford, How to Improve at Swimming: All the Information You Need to Know to Get on Top of Your Game! by Paul Mason, and Let’s Swim by Carol Lindeen.
I am naturally athletic and gentle. I am a good doggie, and I get rewarded when I do good deeds, like bringing in the New York Times before breakfast and remembering to close the back door with my paw when I come in. I could be better about wiping my paws when I come in from a romp outside. Mud makes a mess!
I enjoyed all the affection I received at the library, and I loved the book Miss Julie read called Ten Dogs in the Window: A Countdown Book by Claire Masurel. It was fun to guess which dog the person would choose.
Well, it has been a full day. I will watch a few minutes of the game before I turn in for the night.
