Demonstrations of adaptive technology for the blind and disabled community, and opportunities to network and share ideas and information. For children and adults who use assistive technology. Adaptive Services Division, Room 215.

November 7  1 p.m.
Brian Hurley, National Industries for the Blind, discusses the iPhone, SenseView Duo and Blue Ant BlueTooth Headset. Charlie Crawford, American Council of the Blind, discusses OpenSource and Accessibility.

November 21  10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Hear recent developments in research on retinal diseases at the Foundation Fighting Blindness, Greater DC Regional Conference. Tour of the Adaptive Services Division and demos of adaptive technologies.

December 5  1 p.m.
Dr. Suleiman Alibhai, low vision specialist, presents “Eye Conditions and Strategies for Success.”  Jerry Marindin with Freedom Scientific demonstrates video magnifiers: Ruby Handheld, Sapphire Portable and ONYX Long and Short Distance. Marindin also discusses JAWS and other adaptive technologies.
