PAL kerchief on – it’s time to work! I love my job. I love my life! In this joyful season, I thought… let’s list my joys! Here they are:
Joy #1: Sleeping
Joy #2: Cool air
Joy #3: Green rubber balls
Joy #4: Birds to bark at
Joy #5: King-sized beds
Joy #6: A fulfilling job
Joy #7: A loving family
Joy #8: Many cool friends (two-legged and four-legged)
Joy #9: A home to call my own
Joy #10: Snegurochka is coming!
It was a great night at the Takoma Park Library. Lovely families come to read to me and to pet my ultra-fluffy fur. Pure joy!
Before I left the library, Miss Julie gave me Falling Up: Poems and Drawings by Shel Silverstein to take home. She thought I would enjoy the poem on page 132. When I got home, I read "Christmas Dog" by Shel Silverstein. She was right… I loved it! Here’s the first part of the poem... check out the book to read the end:
| Tonight's my first night as a watchdog, And here it is Christmas Eve. The children are sleeping all cozy upstairs, While I'm guardin' the stockin's and tree. What's that now---footsteps on the rooftop? Could it be a cat or a mouse? Who's this down the chimney? A thief with a beard---And a big sack for robbin' the house? |
Teddy Bear cuddles,
Teddy
