Mother Goose Visit

Mother Goose made an appearance at Lamond-Riggs Library on May 2 during the ever-popular toddler story time, which takes place every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. Rhymes, like music, facilitate the development of a child’s phonological awareness. What better way to start developing reading readiness skills than with Mother Goose nursery rhymes?
May 1 was designated as Mother Goose Day in 1987 by Gloria T. Delamar in tandem with the publication of her book, Mother Goose: From Nursery to Literature. The day is now listed in many calendars of events and celebrated throughout the United States.
