Mission: Preservation

Kids ages 8-11 can learn about conserving historical documents in this interactive workshop.
Learn about segregation in the 1950s by reading Ruth and the Green Book by Calvin Ramsey as a group. Then explore authentic artifacts from the 1950s, record your observations, and determine a preservation plan for each object. Take home your white cotton gloves and an activity book, and preserve your own family's history!
This program is made possible through a partnership with the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History & Culture.
