"Marvelous Movie Mondays" November Schedule

Our very popular “Marvelous Movie Mondays” series continues this month. This series features foreign and lesser-known American and English films. The series is hosted by one of our adult librarians, David Gantt, and it usually features a short pre-film lecture and a post-film discussion.
Films in this series are often of a mature nature and are generally intended for adults. All films are shown with subtitles or captions.
Nov. 5: Three Seasons (Vietnam/US, 1999. 113 minutes, Rated PG.)
This poetic film contains three intertwined stories that take place in Ho Chi Minh City.
Nov. 19: Beyond Silence (Germany, 1996. 109 minutes, Rated PG-13.)
The daughter of deaf parents finds that she has a talent for the clarinet, and her parents cannot share in her musical career.
Nov. 26: Stairway to Heaven (UK, 1946. 104 minutes, Rated PG.)
David Niven stars as a British wartime aviator who cheats death and must argue for his life before a celestial court.
All films begin at 2 p.m. in the library meeting room.
