Yes, that’s right, Catalan: a language spoken in Andorra, northeastern Spain and the French side of the Pyrenees mountains. It's just one of the many treasures to be found in the Children’s Room!
In addition to our famously abundant Spanish-language collection (and one book in Catalan), we also carry children's books for speakers and learners of Amharic, Arabic, Chinese, Estonian, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Lao, Polish, Portuguese, Panjabi, Russian, Swahili, Turkish, Urdu, Vietnamese and Zulu.
Getting to know another language can help you travel the globe or chat with your neighbors, discover new ideas, or share your own with others. The possibilities are sense fi!
Catalan phrases used in this story:
“si us plau” means “please”
“sense fi” means “endless”.
