Bicycling Safety and the Legal Rights of Cyclists in Washington, DC
Please join us for a talk featuring Bruce Deming with Myron Lehtman of the National Capital Velo Club (NCVC), a local non-profit competitive cycling club to be held Thursday, May 15, at 7 p.m. in the large meeting room. Mr. Lehtman, the former president of NCVC, will give a brief overview of cycling in metropolitan Washington. He continues to compete as a cyclist as well as in triathlons. Mr. Deming is a devoted competitive cyclist who rides every day and has been racing road and mountain bikes for the last 25 years. An attorney in private practice in Arlington, Virginia, and also known as "the bike lawyer," Mr. Deming knows firsthand the risks that riders face day-in and day-out. Mr. Deming's focus will be on issues pertaining to cycling safety and the legal rights of cyclists. He is the author of "Surviving The Crash: Your Legal Rights In A Bicycle Accident” and will have free copies available to attendees.
