Celebrate National Library Week
Published on Friday, April 9, 2010 - 12:06pm
April 11-17 is National Library Week, the perfect time to visit the Georgetown Interim to check out our new materials. Or why not get a novel featuring librarians as protagonists such as The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger or the light, romantic Benny & Shrimp by Katarina Mazetti? Many mysteries also take place in labyrinthine libraries and archives, from Umberto Eco's The Name of the Rose to Carlos Ruiz Zafon's The Shadow of the Wind.
On April 13, National Library Worker's Day, we'll be showing the quintessential library movie at 7p.m. The Librarian (PG), starring Noah Wyle, lightheartedly spoofs adventure movies when its lead, an overeducated librarian, must save the world by tracking down powerful stolen artifacts. We'll have popcorn, and we hope you can join us next Tuesday for this fun, family-friendly event!
