Parklands-Turner Library Opened Oct. 5, 2009
A new 4,500-square-foot Parklands-Turner Library opened on October 5, 2009, in The Shops at Park Village, 1547 Alabama Ave. S.E. The new storefront location replaces the small kiosk across the street, which closed on September 10.
The new library offers expanded services including:
- 20 public computers
- Free Wi-Fi Internet access
- More books, DVDs and other library materials
- Space for story time and other library programs
- Comfortable seating
- More hours
- Free parking
The library hosted a Grand Opening Celebration on October 28, from 1-9 p.m.
