Donations to the Library Book Store
Books Plus accepts the donation of new and used books from the general public—no more than three boxes of materials at a time.
All materials accepted for donation must be in new or like-new condition. Materials can be brought to the library and placed on the donation cart located next to the Books Plus Store in the Great Hall of The Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library.
Our staff and volunteers will review the materials to ensure that they are put to their highest and best use. Items that are not to be used by the library will be sold, and 100% of the revenue will be directed to the library.
Books Plus is unable to accept donations of VHS tapes, magazines and periodicals, audiocassettes, LP record albums, or materials that are obsolete, damaged, missing pages, excessively highlighted or otherwise damaged.
If you require a receipt for your donation, you must bring the items to Books Plus during regular store hours, or call the store manager to make an appointment to complete the receipt paperwork prior to donating the materials.
