"They Live" Screening Monday Night

Chevy Chase DC Library will be screening the film They Live Monday, May 17th at 6 pm.
Wrestler “Rowdy” Roddy Piper and Keith David star in this 1988 action /comedy about a man who find a pair of sunglasses that allow him to see undercover aliens in our midst.

They Live is directed by John Carpenter (Escape from New York, The Thing) and it’s notable both for its satire of class and consumerism and for a six minute fist fight scene (one of the longest in film history) between Piper and David. Film critic Scott Tobias wrote a great piece about the film in his column “The New Cult Canon”.Check it out.
