Computer Courses @ Learning Express Library
Learning Express Library offers more than 30 self-paced courses on computer skills/programs typically required by employers (Adobe, Access, Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, Visio, SharePoint, Windows & Mac). An extra benefit is that courses are available for commonly used versions of each program (2003, 2007, 2008). You must have a library card to access this courses from home.
Free, Self-Paced Training Courses from Microsoft Office
Microsoft provides free intro courses to its full suite of products (available in 2003, 2007, and 2010 formats), plus a great collection of tutorials to highlight advanced features and special effects. After you're up to speed on the basics, deepen your knowledge on pivot tables, fly-in animation, and everything in between.

Browse at the Library
A book in hand is a great complement to web-based tutorials and hands-on computer training. The library has an extensive collection of books on computer programs, which can be reserved online or browsed at Dewey call numbers 005.52 - 005.7, or ask a librarian for help.

Computer Courses at the Library
Visit DC Public Library's training labs to receive free, hands-on instruction in the computer class of your choice. The majority of classes are offered on a walk-in basis (no registration required, except where indicated) and filled on a first-come, space available basis. Note that when searching in the library's online calendar for classes, pay particular attention to the class location, so you show up at the right place!
