Breaking Barriers to Employment: Disability Rights in the Workplace

Do you want to know what employers can and cannot ask you regarding a physical or mental disability? Do you want to learn more about legal rights for people with disabilities in the workplace? This presentation by an attorney from Disability Rights D.C. will teach participants about sharing disability information with employers, how to request accommodations for a disability in the workplace, and what to do if you feel you have been discriminated against based on a disability.

Breaking Barriers to Employment: Discrimination in the Workplace

Do you know the legal protections against discrimination you have as an employee in DC? At this workshop, Teresa Rainey from the D.C. Office of Human Rights (OHR) will discuss DC’s progressive Human Rights Act, which protects DC workers against discrimination based on race, religion, national origin, sex, age, and other protected traits. The workshop will also include information on how to file complaints with OHR if the Human Rights Act is violated. For more information, please contact Ashlee Johnson at (202) 849-8285.
