Drawing Basics

The Georgetown Branch of the DC Public Library, in partnership with Guy Mason Recreation Center, presents local artist HELEN GALLAGHER who will teach sessions on Drawing Basics.  Classes will include instruction on Shapes, Shading, Proportion, Measurement, and Perspective.   Some drawing materials will be provided. Ages 18 and older.

Learn everything you need to know about creating files for the laser cutter and using the machine. Registration is required, and all participants need to have taken Fab Lab Orientation. Sign up for this certification and other classes in the Fab Lab here.*

Lunch at the Labs: Embroidery Basics

Throughout history and across cultures, embroidery has been used to embellish and add significance to clothing, accessories, and household objects. Join Labs staff to learn basic stitches and techniques for making your possessions prettier, or adding an extra special touch to a gift. Materials will be provided, but feel free to bring your own fabric or item to practice on.
Coloring Pencils

Sharp Points: Coloring Circle

This is a coloring program for adults. Relax, create, and de-stress with other adults. Supplies will be provided. Dates: 10/3, 10/17,  11/14, and  11/28. This program is Free and open to the public.    

Knitting Circle

Join us from 3 p.m. for a knitting (and crochet!) circle. All experience levels welcome, and we will offer introductory instruction to beginners. In-house training materials will be provided, but please bring needles and yarn for your own take-home projects.

Art all Night: Made in DC

Art all Night: Made in DC

Join us on September 24 at the Tenleytown Library for Art all Night: Made in DC. The library will be open on Saturday from 7 p.m. until midnight for children's art and craft workshops, temporary Henna skin decorations, literary readings, a sculpture room, photo exhibits and a local history display.
