It's a Winter Wonderland

Winter is almost upon us. Come visit the Dorothy I. Height  Neighborhood Library and discover winter magic through fun activities including story time, movies, edible crafts and a winter wonderland village. For all ages. The Winter Village Display begins December 2nd. All programs are free and open to the public.

Gingerbread House Decorating Party

Join us in constructing and decorating gingerbread houses in celebration of the holiday season. All the tasty treats you need will be provided, along with some basic hints on how to make something sturdy and beautiful. RSVP to Faith at if you plan on coming.

Come celebrate the chilly season at a party with stories, crafts, games and a movie at the end. This program is for all ages. 

Lantern Making Workshop and Holiday Stories

Wednesday, December 7, 2016, 4:00 pm

With daylight savings time, it's a great opportunity to craft some lanterns and hear holiday stories about light, including Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and Christmas. At 5:00 pm, we'll take our finished lanterns outside to light up in Book Hill Park behind the library and enjoy some hot chocolate in the glow of our lanterns. This program is recommended for ages 4 and up.

Kids ages 6 & up: Celebrate winter at the library with snowy stories & activities, and the chance to make your very own snow globe to take home with you. Snow globe supplies provided, but limited -- first come, first served.

New Year’s Craft Afternoon

Winter Scavenger Hunt
