50th Anniversary Balloons

Countdown to the 50th Anniversary Celebration at Palisades Library on November 15!

The Palisades Library will celebrate 50 years at the V St NW location from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Library Director Richard Reyes-Gavilan will lead a keynote address beginning at 1:30 p.m. A special day of events is planned including technology workshops, local bands, and a puppet show!  See a 3-D printer in action and meet local community groups!  The day's events have been generously supported by the Friends of Palisades Library.

Learn the basics of editing your photos with two popular computer programs: Adobe Photoshop and GIMP. We will cover basic color balance, clarity and resizing images. This program is for beginners.

Introducing Adobe Illustrator

In this program we will introduce Adobe Illustrator.  Get a page setup and start drawing, explore problems and learn to leverage the libraries diverse learning opportunities to start you down the path toward becoming an expert illustrator.  This class is designed for beginning students who learn well in group environments, solving problems and asking questions.  Bring a design challenge for the group for extra credit!  Meets in the Dream Lab, inside Digital Commons.

Thursday Afternoon Computer Classes

You are cordially invited to attend the Thursday afternoon computer classes at the Southwest Library.  Classes start at 1 p.m. and conclude at 3 p.m. A different computer related topic is presented each week.  January classes include Microsoft Word (Jan. 5), Microsoft Excel (Jan. 12) and Microsoft PowerPoint (Jan. 19).  Please note that class will not be held on January 26.
