50th Anniversary Balloons

Countdown to the 50th Anniversary Celebration at Palisades Library on November 15!

The Palisades Library will celebrate 50 years at the V St NW location from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Library Director Richard Reyes-Gavilan will lead a keynote address beginning at 1:30 p.m. A special day of events is planned including technology workshops, local bands, and a puppet show!  See a 3-D printer in action and meet local community groups!  The day's events have been generously supported by the Friends of Palisades Library.

Pokémon Go Party!

Come by the library for some Pokémon Go fun! We will play a Pokémon movie, decorate Pokémon  cupcakes and go on a Pokémon hunt through the library. All ages

Maybe you helped decorate the cover for a book that you hope someone will choose to "date"; or maybe you are just looking to select your own perfect reading material... Visit the library for some mingling and conversation and hopefully leave with a book you'll enjoy reading! Ages 13-100+

Set someone up with one of your favorite books! Decorate a paper bag book cover for one of your favorite books, showing off its best attributes. (No titles or character names allowed!) We'll put it on display and have a "date night" on Sept. 30 for you to visit the library, see what others have enjoyed, and find something to match your taste! If you want to decorate something but aren't sure we have it; give us a call or send an e-mail! We'll do what we can to have it here for you!

Destruction Derby

Do you have broken electronics that you want to repair or disassemble? This is a drop-in workshop where you can bring in your broken or discarded electronic devices to either repair them or to destroy them! Kids (6 and older) and teens welcome. Learn about electronics and DIY repair. Please note that you must have completed your Fab Lab orientation to attend this program. Sign up for orientation and other classes here.

Maker's Social Club: Superhero Day!

Join us in the Fab Lab for a new edition of Maker's Social Club.  This month, the Maker's Social Club will be celebrating Heroes Day!  Bring out your inner superhero and create a piece using the design software Tinkercad and our 3-D printers.

Family Crafting Night in the Fab Lab

Make paper roll mermaids, decorate 3-D starfishes, and create seashell sun-catchers from laser cut stencils and tissue paper! Recommended for children 6 and above. Children under the age of 6 are not permitted in the lab. Guardians are required to stay with the children while they are in the lab.
