Reduce Stress This Holiday Season Through Meditation

The scientific community has recently been exploring the use of meditation as a healing modality.Join Karin Silverman as she discusses the extraordinary effect of meditation to reduce stress, improve concentration, enhance clarity of thought and mental equilibrium. She will also present a simple, yet powerful, meditation technique that can enrich one's life personally, professionally, spiritually and help with seasonal stress.The free workshop will take place in Room A-3. All are welcome to attend.

Writing to Reflect With Local Author Bathsheba Smithen

In this workshop, author Bathsheba Smithen will discusses her journey to self-discovery through creative writing! Learn how she identified who she is outside of the judgments and opinions of others. Following discussion and reading, Ms. Smithen will explain the process of writing creatively as a means of therapy.  Come listen, reflect and write with us in the Teen Space. Ages 13 to 19.

Dream BIG Like Me Video Contest

Work on a poem, song, dance, or skit to submit for this teens-only contest. Celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and tell the world what your BIG dream is. Need help recording? Just ask!Entries will be submitted to the Youth202 website from Jan. 19 to Feb. 15. The winning entry – chosen by you—will be showcased at the Black History Month Teen Open Mic event at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library in February.

Create a piece of art, mural, poem, collage, etc. for the "I Have A Dream" Wall. Art will be displayed on the Dream Wall at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library.For teens.
