The Sexual Minority Youth Assistance League, otherwise known as SMYAL, will offer a series of workshops at various locations throughout the DC Public Library system. These workshops will focus on how germs are transmitted and how they affect the body, with a special emphasis on HIV and AIDS.

Drop in to the meeting room on the main floor from 3 – 6 p.m. for some real talk about condoms, HIV, STIs (Sexually Transmitted Infections), and testing resources in the DC area. Service Providers from the Latin American Youth Center will answer all your questions. Free & confidential testing will be available afterward.
Join us for a special screening of the classic 1945 film noir, Detour, directed by Edgar G. Ulmer in the large meeting room Thursday, June 19 at 7 p.m. A discussion with members of DC Moving Pictures will follow the screening. DC Moving Pictures is a local collaborative dedicated to the moving image, championing film and video that does not get seen enough.
