In honor of LGBTQ Pride Month, we will screen a film directed by one of Hollywood's first openly lesbian filmmakers, Dorothy Arzner. Arzner's Christopher Strong (1933) is the story of Lady Cynthia Darrington (Katharine Hepburn), an aviatrix who has historically put her career ahead of romantic pursuits. When she least expects to, she falls in love with family man Christopher Strong (Colin Clive), much to the chagrin of his wife Elaine (Billie Burke) and daugher Monica (Helen Chandler). But the Strong family has illicit secrets of their own.
