Art Night DC: Creative Postcards with Carlos Carmonamedina

Children will use collage, stencils, and paint to create postcards from Tenleytown, based on photos of representative buildings and monuments. The workshop is open to all ages, but young toddlers may need supervision from their caretakers. "Gravelly Point" is one of Carmonamedina's original postcard illustrations that highlights life in D.C. More can be found on his web site.

"The People in Pineapple Place" Walking Tour

Join children’s librarians Gayle and Tracy on a walking tour of Georgetown, based around the children’s book "The People in Pineapple Place" by Anne Lindbergh. Download the “DC By the Book Tours” app to view historical photos of the sites we view along the way. Sites include: Dumbarton Oaks, Anthony Hyde Elementary School, and Pomander Walk, the real-life inspiration for the imaginary Pineapple Place. We will begin the tour at Georgetown University’s Healy Hall and will end the tour at the Georgetown Neighborhood Library.
