NSO In Your Neighborhood

The National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) visits the Anacostia Library.  NSO musicians Heather LeDoux Green (violin) and Paul DeNola (bass) will give a performance for children. A Musical Instrument “petting zoo” will be set up at the library following the performance.

2016 was a year packed with Pokémon, with Pokémon Go on mobile phones, the Pokémon Company celebrating its 20th anniversary, and the release of Pokémon Sun and Moon, the newest additions to the handheld games.  Let's start 2017 off Pokémon style - with a celebration! Join us in the Children's Room and Teen Spaces on Saturday, January 21, 3 - 5:30 p.m.  We will:   Screen a Pokémon movie on a big screen in the Programming Room adjacent to the Children's Room!

This program has temporarily moved to Chevy Chase Library from Cleveland Park Library. Weekly chess instruction on Thursdays at 5 p.m. This program is for children of all ages who want to learn to play or improve their chess moves and play in tournaments. Our chess instructor will teach the chess players how to think and plan their next move and use their brain power to win. Come and join our Chess group and learn to make a risky move, Check, Mate, and have fun. This program is made possible by the Friends of the Cleveland Park Library.
French Story Time

French Story Time at Chevy Chase Library

This program includes songs, music and motion and is very interactive. Children have the opportunity to learn French songs, practice their French, and connect words with motion, as well as enjoy stories. Come and join us at the Chevy Chase Library every Thursday at 4 p.m.
