PanLara Holiday Concert & Steel Pan Workshop

PanLara is an organization that provides an arts and cultural forum for youth from diverse communities in the, D.C. metropolitan area. PanLara Youth Steel Orchestra’s aim is to share their African Caribbean culture through steel pan music. The group was recently featured on WPFW Radio Program’s “Live @5”, Fox5 News DC and the inaugural DC Grace Jamaican Jerk Festival. Join PanLara for this interactive, holiday steel pan concert! Day at the Beach

Tired of cold weather? Escape from reality and enjoy a day at the beach at the MLK Library Children’s Room! Lounge on a beach towel with your favorite book, play in the sand and build sandcastles, take home a jellyfish, catch a wave, and have a blast! For children up to age 12 and their caregivers.

Taking a Winter Break

Children’s programming at the Tenley-Friendship Library will be taking a short winter break from Dec. 19 through Jan. 2. No onsite programs, including story times, will be offered.  During our break, children and teens are encouraged to participate in Winter Reading to earn prizes. Join us for a movie break this December!   On Sunday, December 18 at 2 p.m., relax with us and watch "The Muppet Christmas Carol".    You bring your blankets and pillows, and we’ll provide the snacks and drinks.  All ages.  Lower Level Meeting Room.

Winter is almost upon us. Come visit the Dorothy I. Height  Neighborhood Library and discover winter magic through fun activities including story time, movies, edible crafts and a winter wonderland village. For all ages. The Winter Village Display begins December 2, 2016. All programs are free and open to the public.
