Chess Instruction for Children and Teens

Join master chess instructor Vaughn Bennet as he leads and instructs children and teens in winning strategies for playing chess. Don't forget to pick up your copy or place a hold on Chess for Children by Sabrina Chevaness. Best for ages 5 years to 16 years.

Learn to Play Chess

It's your move! Learn to play chess, improve your game, or practice your moves with other players.  This drop-in group is open to all ages and experience levels and meets every Tuesday and Thursday at 6 pm.

Chess for Kids

Weekly chess instruction for kids of all ages. Our master chess instructor will guide you from learning the basics to advancing your level of skill. Made possible by the Friends of the Cleveland Park Library.

Big Chair Chess Club...For Kids!

Our experienced chess instructor, Mr. Norman, has a spot at the table reserved for you! Come learn the basics or hone your skillful strategies. Especially appropriate for ages 6 and older.  

Last Day of Summer Reading!

Today is the official last day of Summer Reading.  If you haven't turned in your reading log, please bring it in and get your prizes!  We'll be drawing winners for our Children's Summer Reading raffles at the End of Summer Reading Party on September 3rd.
