Day at the Beach

Tired of cold weather? Escape from reality and enjoy a day at the beach at the MLK Library Children’s Room! Lounge on a beach towel with your favorite book, play in the sand and build sandcastles, take home a jellyfish, catch a wave, and have a blast! For children up to age 12 and their caregivers.

Hot Cocoa Literacy Lounge

Keep your child's early literacy skills sharp this winter break! Register online for DC Public Library's Winter Reading Program and bring your eager and reluctant readers in Kindergarten,1st and 2nd grade to the library on Wednesday, December 28 at 11a.m. for some yummy hot cocoa (with marshmallows!) as they read aloud from some of our most popular Easy Readers (at levels that are most appropriate for each child).

Winter is almost upon us. Come visit the Dorothy I. Height  Neighborhood Library and discover winter magic through fun activities including story time, movies, edible crafts and a winter wonderland village. For all ages. The Winter Village Display begins December 2, 2016. All programs are free and open to the public.
