Children and families are invited to family story time -- including stories, songs, and other early learning activities -- with a very special guest: Pepper the dog! Children will have the opportunity to meet and interact with the library's best canine pal, and newly independent readers can practice reading to Pepper after story time.

Preschool Storytime

Share the fun of reading with your children ages 3-5 years. Children and their caregivers, will explore stories and activities to encourage children to develop a lifelong love of reading and learning. This 30 minute program is designed to promote language and listening skills, expand children’s imaginations and arouse their curiosity about the world around them.  Currently, no tickets are required. However, that may change subject to demand.

Come to a special story time with Real DC Firefighters! Visit the Parklands Turner Library on Tuesday, April 4 at 10 a.m. and meet real firefighters! The fire fighters will talk to you about fire safety and show you their fire trucks! A librarian will read stories about firefighters, fire safety, and fire trucks. This story time is especially designed for children ages 3 and up.

Paws to Read-- A Special Family Story Time

Let’s celebrate PAWS TO READ MONTH!   Every child is encouraged to bring a favorite Animal Stuffy to this special Family Story Time! Our story time books and songs will be an ode to beloved pets as we celebrate the best features of our furry friends! Beware: barking, meowing, chirping and howling may ensue!  Appropriate for birth to five years old
