An evening story time where pajamas are encouraged but not required. These 30-40 minute evening programs are designed to delight children of all ages. Filled with stories and activities that promote and develop language skills and imagination, these programs encourage children to develop a lifelong love of reading and learning.

STAR Workshop/Pajama Storytime

Missed the STAR Festival at Martin Luther King? Want to know more about STAR and the resources available through the library? Come to a very special Pajama Story Time at Deanwood Library! In addition to our regular story time, Miss Kate will explain what STAR is, how you can use it to help your child develop their pre-literacy skills, and practice using books and other media to interact with your child.

You're invited to have a bewitching good time at the Dorothy I. Height Library. If you dare, join us for an hour  of  ghostly games, ghastly tales, and ghoulish treats. For ages 5-12.  This program is FREE and open to the public.

Our Music Time is a great way to introduce your child to language skills in a positive and fun environment. With slightly more songs, activities and movement than our lap times, children and their grownups are encouraged to engage with the books and songs and to actively participate in the program.  This 20-30 minute story time is full of books, songs, rhymes and finger plays for children ages two to five years old. Children should be able to follow one and two step directions in order to fully participate in this story time.

Calling All Preschool Readers

Calling all readers ages 3-5! Do you like stories? Grab your grownup and pay us a visit.  Be advised: This program may expose the reader in you!  The 30-40 minute reading programs are designed to promote language and listening skills.  Join us and exercise your mind with stories and activities that spark the imagination and arouse curiosity.  SEE YOU THERE!
