Celebrate Día in the District

Join us for a bilingual musical performance to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Día - El Día de los Niños/El Día de los Libros = Children's Day/Book Day. Music and fun will be provided by Uno, Dos, Trés con Andrés at 10:30 a.m. in Meeting Room 1 at the Lamond-Riggs Library.

Baby and Toddler Story Time

These 20-30 minute story times are full of books, songs, rhymes and fingerplays for children birth to two years old. Our Baby and Toddler Story Time is a great way to introduce your child to language skills in a positive and fun environment. With slightly more activity and movement than our lap times, children and their caregivers are encouraged to engage with the books and songs and to actively participate in the program.

Doggie Storytime with PAL

Join us for a doggie-themed story time.  We’ll read some dog-related stories and have books on display for you to check out and take home.

Happy 100th Birthday, Beverly Cleary!

Join us in the Children's Room as we celebrate author Beverley Cleary's 100th birthday! We'll have special morning preschool storytimes at 10 and 11 a.m., plus activities and read-alouds throughout the day for children of all ages.

Family Story Time

Story time fun for entire family, these 30-40 minutes story times are packed full of books and activities designed to be enjoyed by all ages. Promoting language and literacy skills, these story times are a great way to further your child's lifelong love of reading and learning. Children and their grownups are encouraged to actively engage and participate with the stories and activities during the program.  All programs are free and open to the public.

Earth Day Family Story Time and Craft

Join us for a special Earth Day edition of Family Story Time. We'll read Todd Parr's The EARTH Book and Pizza at Sally's by Monica Wellington.

Pajama Storytime

An evening story time where pajamas are encouraged but not required. These 30-40 minute evening programs are designed to delight children of all ages. Filled with stories and activities that promote and develop language skills and imagination, these programs encourage children to develop a lifelong love of reading and learning.
Owl Art Baby Lap Time

Baby Lap Time

A story time experience for our youngest library users and their caregivers. These 20-30 minutes story times introduce books, songs, rhymes, tickles and bounces developmentally appropriate for children ages birth to when they start walking.  Baby Lap Time is a wonderful way to introduce your child to the joys of reading in a positive and fun atmosphere. This story time is designed so the baby will be in their caregiver’s lap and the grownup is actively involved in the program. It is recommended that each child have their own adult with them.

Eggs-Quisite Colors of Easter!

"Eggs-quisite Colors of Easter" is a B.Y.O.B.E. ("bring your own boiled eggs") event. Come to our regularly scheduled Family Story time and dress for mess! Bring up to three plain boiled eggs for some Easter fun! We will enjoy an Easter-themed stories, dye and decorate our eggs, make bunny baskets and take pictures of the visual eggs-quisiteness of it all!
