Tenley Readers Unite! Fall Book Club Meeting

Tenley Readers Unite or TRU Crew is a Book Club for 4th to 7th graders and it’s back for the fall.  New and returning clubbers are welcome at this informational meeting.  We’ll talk about books we want to read, vote on October’s pick, and share some munchies. TRU Crew welcomes readers between the ages of 8 and 12. We will meet once every month from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the Children's Meeting Room.   Fall 2016 meeting dates are: September 24 October 22 November 19 December 17
The 13 Story Treehouse

Book Club: The 13 Story Treehouse

Children ages 8-12 are invited to read The 13 Story Treehouse, an illustrated book about the adventures of Andy and Terry, who live in the most amazing treehouse in the world, with thirteen stories, a bowling alley, a see-through swimming pool, a secret underground laboratory, and a marshmallow machine. Then join us in the Children's Room to discuss the book.

Kids Club: Reader's Theatre

During Reader’s Theatre, children bring stories to life by reading aloud from scripts created from children’s books. Today, we will read about daring mice who take on a ferocious feline in Kat Kong by Dav Pilkey. Best suited for ages 6-12. Parent participation is welcomed and encouraged.

UNCENSORED: One Book at a Time Club

The children's room book club will resume in September with a book which people tried to ban: In the Night Kitchen by Maurice Sendak. We will read it, sing it, discuss it, and enjoy it with snacks!  For children ages 8 - 12 or those who wish to be.

This month, we're reading It Ain't So Awful, Falafel by Firoozeh Dumas. At our meeting, we'll discuss the book, do a fun activity, and enjoy snacks. Participants will also vote on which book we'll read in September! Copies of the book are available for checkout at the Information Desk. Ages 8-12.
