Afterschool Lounge

Need a place to sit and chat with friends, play games, or just chill? Come to the Afterschool Lounge on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and use the library's large conference room as a group study room, game space, lounge and snack area. Board and card games are available. Food and drinks are welcome.  Crafts, trivia tournaments, video games, and other activities will be available on a rotating basis. Ages 11-19.

Share the fun of reading with your children ages 3-5 years. Children and their caregivers, will explore stories and activities to encourage children to develop a lifelong love of reading and learning. This 30-40 minute program is designed to promote language and listening skills, expand children’s imaginations and arouse their curiosity about the world around them. Tickets are required to attend this program. They are available at the Children’s Desk 30 minutes before the start of the story time on a first-come, first-served basis.

Tots and Toys Playdate

Join us in the Children's Room every Tuesday after Toddler Story Time for an informal, indoor playdate. Kids can play with toys, browse books, visit with friends, and toddle! We'll set out toys to develop motor skills and books to encourage early literacy. You bring the little ones. For children ages birth to 3 with their parents or caregivers.

Story time fun for the entire family, this 30-40 minute story time is packed full of books and activities designed to be enjoyed by all ages. Promoting language and literacy skills, these story times are a great way to further your child’s lifelong love of reading and learning. Children and their caregivers are encouraged to actively engage and participate with the stories and activities during the program.

Tenley Readers Unite! Fall Book Club Meeting

Tenley Readers Unite or TRU Crew is a Book Club for 4th to 7th graders and it’s back for the fall.  New and returning clubbers are welcome at this informational meeting.  We’ll talk about books we want to read, vote on October’s pick, and share some munchies. TRU Crew welcomes readers between the ages of 8 and 12. We will meet once every month from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the Children's Meeting Room.   Fall 2016 meeting dates are: September 24 October 22 November 19 December 17

Viniyoga Mondays

Have a balanced autumn with the help of Viniyoga, a type of gentle hatha yoga. After many requests we were able to expand the class schedule. Each class is 75 minutes long and will be seated on a first-come, first served basis. Please bring your own yoga mat.
