Washington Highlands Library Closed for Reconstruction

Interim Location Opening December 21, 2009

The Washington Highlands Neighborhood Library, located at 115 Atlantic St. SW, closed for reconstruction on Monday, November 30, 2009. The Washington Highlands Interim Library, located at 4035 South Capital St. SW, will open on Monday, December 21.  In the meantime, you may return or renew materials checked out from Washington Highlands at any D.C. public library. You will still be responsible for returning materials on time, or you may accrue overdue fines. If you would like to renew your materials by phone, please call the Francis A.

Frightfully Fun Monsterpiece Contest!

Hey, kids! Wouldn't it be cool to design your own monster? And maybe have that design turned into a toy? Come join us at the library on October 27, 2009 at 4 p.m for the “Make My Own Monster Halloween Contest.” Children ages 6 to 12 will draw a cool-looking monster on the entry form, and the winning “monsterpiece” in this nationwide contest will be turned into a real toy by the North American Bear Company! Global Action for Children will provide entry forms that require either a parent or guardian’s signature.

Bring your friends, and enjoy great minigames like boxing, baseball, table tennis, and hockey!
