Book Clubs
The DC Public Library offers a variety of book clubs for residents to gather and discuss their love of books. Below is a selection of the many reading groups and book discussions. Please be sure check the calendar to make sure an event is scheduled on the date you wish to attend. You can also call the library where the event is scheduled to find out more. If you'd like to be part of a book club but can't make it to the meetings, we also have a number of online book clubs that you can find on our Read Feed page.
Brown Bag DC
Chevy Chase Library Book Club
Chevy Chase Library book club is the library's oldest book club. We discuss new and notable fiction and non-fiction. We meet the first Tuesday of the month, and you can find our monthly selections at dclibrary.org/chevychase. You can also email emily.menchal@dc.gov for more information.
Feeder's Advisory Book Club
Do you love browsing through cookbooks? Do you relish the idea of discussing different cuisines and food related topics? Then Feeder's Advisory is just for you! We meet on the third Monday of the month at 7 p.m. in the Lower Level Conference Room at the Northeast Neighborhood Library and you can find the monthly selection at dclibrary.org/northeast. Love in Color Book Club
Do you love romance novels but never see yourself represented in them? Or are you looking to dive into the romance genre but don't know where to start? If so, the Love in Color Book Club is just for you! Come join us virtually on the first Wednesday of each month as we discuss a romance novel written by an author of color. Moveable Feast Classics Book Group
The Moveable Feast Classics Book Group meets on the second Monday of every month at 2 p.m., rotating between Georgetown, Palisades, and Cleveland Park Libraries. This is an opportunity to revisit an old favorite, finally get to something you’ve always meant or wanted to read, or explore something new to you. Mt. Pleasant Reads
All genres and readers are welcome! We typically meet on the third Wednesday of every month. Reading the club selection is not a requirement to attend (just be forewarned that there will be spoilers). Titles will be decided by group members and a limited number of copies will be set aside at the Mt. Pleasant Library. Fill out this form to be added to the book club mailing list. Mystery Book Club
Enjoy a good mystery? Come join us at the Chevy Chase Library as we discuss a range of mysteries, including popular titles, classics, and mysteries set in different lands and different times. We meet on the third Thursday of the month at 7 p.m.

Palisades Library Book Club
This club meets once a month on the third Tuesday at the Palisades Neighborhood Library. The club reads a wide variety of fiction and nonfiction with occasional forays into poetry and plays. Queer Book Club
Queer Book Club is a small but enthusiastic community that meets monthly to discuss queer-themed books spanning a variety of genres. To find out when and where our next meeting will be held email johnna.percell@dc.gov.
Short Trips Short Story Book Club
Explore the world through short stories. Each month this book club reads three short stories written by an author from another country or an immigrant or refugee to the U.S. We meet the third Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at Tenley-Friendship Library. The Page Turners Book Club
Are you in need of a page-turner? Welcome to the Parklands-Turner Book Club! No genre is off limits, we read a range of fiction and nonfiction titles. Suggestions are always welcome and monthly selections are decided by club members. We meet virtually on Wednesday evenings once a month. Truth Universally Acknowledged: A Pride and Prejudice Book Club
Over 200 years old, Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen is one of the most beloved novels in the English language. In this book club, we will read the seminal novel and books inspired by the novel. Club meets in the Meeting Room of the Southeast Library on the first Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m.
