This is in an interactive program for children and caregivers that uses play and exploration to develop pre-literacy skills. This program will rotate through play, music and dance, building, and sensory-based sessions. Ages 2-5 and caregivers.

These 20 to 30 minute programs are full of books, songs and fun activities designed to help develop your child’s language skills and a love for books. It is a great time for very young children to socialize with others and be prepared to start school. Children ages 18-36 months are encouraged to engage with the stories and activities, and their grownups are encouraged to participate in the program along with the children.

Join us for the first of a fun new series at Cleveland Park! Each session will explore music from a different decade.   Get ready to groove to the music -- this session will be all DISCO! All able attendees are expected to participate. This program is for children of all ages and their adults.    Stay tuned for details on future Decade Dances!

This open, drop in anytime program is an interactive engagement program for children and caregivers that uses play and exploration to develop pre-literacy skills. Caregivers are expected to actively engage with children using the designed early literacy stations and prompts. This program will rotate through play, art and sensory sessions.  Art builds fine motor skills and expression. Play is how children process literacy skills they have learned. Sensory times are multi-dimensional and involve lots of repetition and manipulations.

Come sing, tap and clap along during Music and Movement. This is a dynamic and interactive program that emphasizes early literacy skills. This program is recommended for children ages 1-5 and their caregivers.

Share the fun of reading with your children ages 3-5 years. Children and their caregivers will explore stories and activities to encourage children to develop a lifelong love of reading and learning. These 30-to-40-minute programs are designed to promote language and listening skills, expand children’s imaginations and arouse their curiosity about the world around them. Class groups and daycares are welcome at these sessions. No children under 2 years of age are permitted unless attending with a sibling or class group.

Our Baby and Toddler Story Time is a great way to introduce your child to language skills in a positive and fun environment. With slightly more activity and movement than our lap times, children and their grownups are encouraged to engage with the books and songs and to actively participate in the program.

Get up and get moving at our Toddler Story Time. This program is full of books, songs and fun activities designed to help develop your child’s language skills.Children ages 1-3 years and their grownups are encouraged to engage with the stories and activities and participate in the program along with the children. Tickets are required to attend this program. They are available at the Children’s Desk 60 minutes before the start of the story time on a first-come, first-served basis.

Join us for our Black History Month Craft Series! Every Wednesday in February we will celebrate a Black leader who made history. What would you like to cure? Kids will be given a cut out of a beaker that they can decorate. Draw out your next experiment and tell us what you will invent. This craft celebrates the life and research of chemist Percy Julian.

Homework Hour is a space for students grades K-8 to get academic support. The tutors are high school volunteers that are here to help with homework or practice any skill. From reading to math, the student can get support with whatever they need help with. Tutoring will be held on a first-come, first-served basis.

This program is for children of all ages who want to learn to play or improve their chess moves and play in tournaments. Our chess instructor will teach the chess players how to think and plan their next move and use their brain power to win. Children of all ages will have the opportunity to play musical instruments, sing along with popular songs, dance to their favorite music, and learn the alphabet and how to count. This program is all about rhythm and speech stimuli that allow children to enjoy music.

Join us for science story time!  Little STEM Explorers is the perfect introduction for toddlers to basic STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) concepts.
