Early Literacy Craft Time

Bring story time home by creating your own easy-to-make flannel shapes and finger puppets. Children and their caregivers will learn a new rhyme or finger play together. Supplies will be provided to create shapes or puppets to go along with the rhyme. Books, music and an interactive flannel board will keep children busy while their grownups get crafty. For children 0-5 and their caregivers. Happening on the first and third Thursdays of the month.

These 20-30 minute programs are full of books, songs and art activities that  are designed to help develop your child’s language and motor skills. After storytime, your child will participate in a process-oriented art project to explore art materials and the world around them. Process-oriented art focuses on what can be learned from the act of making art rather than the product.

Don't miss S.T.E.A.M. Team!  Every month we’ll do a different hands-on activity exploring Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. Ages 6 & Up in the Southeast Library meeting room. Children under 9 years old must have a parent with them on library premises.  Hand-on activities may require caretaker help and supervision.

Your stuffed animal will spend the night at the library, & when you come to pick your pal up, your personalized photo album will be filled with photos of all the sleepover adventures they had! Looking to learn a valuable skill? Want to learn how to knit? Join us for a new season of the Kid’s Knitting Club! Visiting knitting teacher, Teri Huet will instruct participants on the basics of knitting, how to get started, and more. Returning students will get to start new projects and new students will get the basics. All supplies provided including needles and yarn. This series will continue through the fall. Parents and caretakers are encouraged to stay and participate with your children.
