Celebrate Banned Book Week at Deanwood Library with a special screening of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.  Now in his third year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry Harry Potter, along with friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, investigate Sirius Black, an escaped prisoner from Azkaban Prison whom they believe is one of Lord Voldemort's old allies.

We are recruiting all super sleuths between 10 - 15 years old for our Banned Books Week Youth Scavenger Hunt! Banned Books Week is the national book community's annual celebration of the freedom to read without any censorship.   Your secret mission is to complete several activity challenges and solve our series of Banned Books clues to win prizes (some of which may be edible!). This activity will take about 45 minutes and will be available until 7 p.m.

Synopsis: When Thomas wakes up trapped in a massive maze with a group of young adults, he has no memory of the outside world other than strange dreams about a mysterious organization known as W.C.K.D. Lockridge Library for an "Uncensored" improv class with Maryam Foye of the HBC Theater Company.  Maryam is a well-known actor and playwright based in the SE DC area. She is also the owner of The Den reading room in the Anacostia Library, as well as the conductor of the Playback Theater Ensemble. Maryam has dedicated her life to bringing art and theater to all communities.
