Toddler Story Time

Get up and get moving at our Toddler Story Time. This 20-30 minute program is full of books, songs and fun activities that are designed to help develop your child’s language skills. Children ages 12-36 months and their caregivers are encouraged to engage with the stories and activities and participate in the program along with the children. Tickets are required to attend this program. They are available at the Children’s Desk 60 minutes before the start of the story time on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Gerald Anderson author talk will take place at the 6th & I Synagogue (600 I St. NW) at 12:30 pm.  Join library staff at DowntownDC BID's Chinatown Parks afternoon activation on Tuesdays from May through September. Chinatown Parks are located at 5th and Massachusetts Ave. NW.

Bilingual Spanish Story Time

Stories, songs, dances, and more in English and Spanish for children ages birth to 5 and their adults. For safety's sake, there is a limit of 75 participants for each story time. Remember there is a story time at 10 a.m. and another repeated at 11 a.m. To schedule a class visit, please call 202-671-3125. Summer camp groups with students ages 9 and under are invited call and reserve space in our special “Build A Better World” Camp Day story time sessions on June 22 and August 3 on a first come, first served basis. Sessions will take place at 11 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. on both days.

Science in the Summer: Level 2

Georgetown Library

3:30 p.m.
Students will discover how science helps athletes perform in their sports.  They will participate in challenges (balance, stability, reaction time) to understand physical and mental skills that can be helpful in sports and learn about the importance of good nutrition.  To understand the science behind the development of different types of protective sports equipment, students will build models.  In addition, they will explore the physics of several popular sports.  Students will create profile cards of their own ultimate athlete or sports scientist.

This 20-30 minute program is full of books, songs, rhymes and fingerplays for children birth to two years old. Our Baby and Toddler Story Time is a great way to introduce your child to language skills in a positive and fun environment. Children and their grownups are encouraged to engage with the books and songs and to actively participate in the program.  Space is limited and admission is on a first come, first served basis. Doors open at 9:30AM and story time starts at 9:45AM. Have a group? Please call ahead of time to schedule a special visit.
