Baby-Toddler Story Time

1:30 p.m.
A story time experience for our youngest library users. These 20-30 minutes story times introduce books, songs, rhymes and bounces developmentally appropriate for children ages birth to two years old.  Baby Lap Time is a wonderful way to introduce your child to the joys of reading in a positive and fun atmosphere. This story time is designed so the baby will be on a lap and the grownup is actively involved in the program.  This program is free and open to the public.

Do you like to build with Legos and solve puzzles? Join us to work through engineering and science activities like, "who can build a paper airplane that carries the most cargo over 10 feet," or just come to build with Legos and relax after school. We'll have a different short science activity each week at the beginning and Lego building afterward. This program is recommended for ages 4 and up.

This story time is designed so the baby will be in their caregiver’s lap and the grownup is actively involved in the program; it is recommended that each child have their own adult with them.

Join The Sign of the Times with Mr. Greggs for a photography workshop for ages 10-15. This workshop will teach the youth how to use different types of cameras focusing on basic camera functions, good picture taking skills and documenting changes in the community. All workshop will expose the youth to books of famous, local and national professional minority artist in photography. This program is free and offers a great experience for youth. Tuesdays and Thursdays June 27 - August 13, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.

These 20-30 minute story times are full of books, songs, rhymes and fingerplays for children birth to two years old. Our Baby and Toddler Story Time is a great way to introduce your child to language skills in a positive and fun environment. Children and their caregivers are encouraged to engage with the books and songs and to actively participate in the program.

Looking for a place to toddle? Play with toys? Meet other little ones? Look no further!  Join us in the Children’s Room of the Northeast Library every Thursday afternoon 1-3 p.m. Play with toys that encourage early literacy and motor skill development. Learn early literacy tips from Children’s Librarians.  Relax, let loose, and have a ball! For children ages birth to 3, along with parents and their caretakers.
