The Writer's Den: A NaNoWriMo Event

Register for NaNoWriMo and get swag to keep you writing. Let's Communicate in American Sign Language: Beginning Level

Anacostia Library

The Anacostia Neighborhood Library is pleased to be partnering with Community Connections, who will be here every Tuesday and Thursday to provide supportive services to promote housing stability and to prevent homelessness. Services offered include assistance with obtaining IDs, completing applications for services, and guidance with regards to Social Security Disability Income. Community Connections staff will be located in one of our study rooms and no appointment is needed.

Get up and get moving at our Toddler Story Time. This 20-30 minute program is full of books, songs and fun activities designed to help develop your child’s language skills. Children ages 18-36 months and their grownups are encouraged to engage with the stories and activities and participate in the program.  Space is limited; participants are admitted on a first come, first served basis beginning at 9:30 a.m.  Have a group? Please call ahead of time to arrange a special visit.

A story time experience for our youngest library users and their caregivers. These 20-30 minutes story times introduce books, songs, rhymes, tickles and bounces developmentally appropriate for children ages birth to when they start walking.  Baby Lap Time is a wonderful way to introduce your child to the joys of reading in a positive and fun atmosphere. This story time is designed so the baby will be in their caregiver’s lap and the grownup is actively involved in the program. It is recommended that each child have their own adult with them.
