Summer Reading Kick Off!

Fizz! Boom! Read!

Calling all scientists! We are kicking off our Summer Reading program with some fun hands-on science activities!Come learn about gravity, buoyancy, botany and more! We will be exploring these concepts through fun activities, such as making our own tornadoes, planting beans, creating catapults, splat painting, and more!

Spark a Reaction @ Chevy Chase Library

We are kicking off our 2014 Summer Reading program with some hands-on science fun! We will be exploring the concepts of gravity and molecular bonds. You can create a catapult, make your own Flubber, and more! We are also holding our second Henna Workshop, where teens can learn about the cultural significance of henna as well as having a design applied to their hands.

April is Poetry Month at the Library -- and in the Teen Space, we're making poetry collages and "black-out" poetry to celebrate a month-long love affair with the written word. Teens can choose one of our poetry crafts, or write their own from scratch.
