Deanwood Adult Book Club

A Great Place to Discuss Your Favorite Books

Come make new friends and reconnect with old friends.  The club meets the first Monday of the month at 7 p.m., unless otherwise noted. Engage in thought-provoking conversations and share your interests. At each meeting, the book for the next month is chosen.  The Deanwood Library will provide a copy of the book to check out if you have a D.C. library card.   Light refreshments are served.  Free and open to the public.

Jennifer's Urban Teen Fiction Book Club

Come and enjoy lively book dicussions about Hot Titles in Urban Fiction.  Wednesday, September 15 and October 20 at 6:30 pm.

Game Night

Game Night Mondays and Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m.  Ages 8-13 years.  No games scheduled for Monday, September 6, or October 11.

Author Talk and Book Signing with a RedSkin

In 2006, NFL Veteran Linebacker and Stanford University graduate Chris Draft established the Chris Daft Family Foundation.  The Foundation focuses on seven primary initiatives with overarching themes that stress the importance of education, healthy lifestyles, character development, personal responsibility, self-discipline and physical fitness.  Number "52" from the Washington Redskins will be hosting a book signing  and author talk on Friday, July 16, 2010 at 10:30 the Children's Room.  Free and all are welcome.

A new library is part of the 63,000-square-foot aquatic and community center in the Deanwood neighborhood at 1350 49th Street, N.E. The community center opened Friday, June 25.The 7,300-square-foot library features:     Separate areas for children, teens and adults     Children's story time room     24 computers with free WiFi Internet access     Space for 35,000 books, CDs, DVDs and other library materials
