Let's Communicate in American Sign Language: Beginning Level

Let’s Communicate in American Sign Language: Beginning Level   Bring your lunch and join us on Tuesdays at noon for weekly ASL classes in the Library Express Training Room.    This Beginning Level class will cover 100+ ASL vocabulary words and rules of grammar.   Review what you know, learn new signs, and practice conversation. Although focus is on beginners, everyone is welcome to join the class, regardless of skill level.   Space is limited so come early to ensure a seat.

JAWS Classes

JAWS classes happen every Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Library Express, 1990 K Street NW (Entrance on 20th Street). JAWS is a screen reading software that uses a synthesized voice to give non-visual access to computers. If you are blind or have low vision and would like to learn to use a computer by using only a screen reader, JAWS class might be right for you. Call 202-727-2142 to register for a 10 week curriculum in JAWS training: beginning, intermediate and advanced levels. Space is limited.

goDigital - Universal Class

goDigital – Universal Class is a 1.5 hour presentation of a dynamic database, which provides online training in a wide array of subjects, including computer training, office skills, health and medicine, language arts, law/legal/criminal, pet and animal care, real estate and so much more. Each Universal Class course involves lessons, assignments, exams and, if passed, awards Continuing Education Units, which are viable credentials in the workplace.
