Know Your Power with Writopia Lab: Creative Writing For Teens

Sign up for a creative writing workshop for young people between the ages of 13 - 19 provided by Writopia Lab. In these hour-long workshops held over WebEx, published authors, poets and playwrights will guide youth in authoring their own work of creative writing based on a social issue that they are passionate about. All workshops are multi-genre (fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and plays may be explored).

Join us virtually on Saturdays at 10 a.m. for the Tenley-Friendship Branch ESL Conversation Circle. The hour-and-a-half sessions are for non-native speakers of English ages 18 and older.

The first in a series of yearlong celebrations of women authors and their influence. Starting this March, we will honor a new woman author, as we read and chat throughout the year about her work, as well the work of others who've been impacted by her. Daughters of Jane will cover the portrayal of women in Regency Romance, Victorian and Gothic literature on both sides of the Atlantic. We'll gather online to chat at 6 p.m. on every 3rd Tuesday.

More Than Words: Veteran's Writing Circle

More Than Words: Veteran's Writing Circle is a new memoir-writing group for all former military personnel. Sessions will be hosted by library staff, featuring local author and Veteran, Nick Mann. Come ready to reflect, question and write. Writing exercises will be provided. Sessions will be held monthly on the 3rd Friday of every month at noon. At this time, all sessions will occur online.
