Overview
DC Public Library is committed to updating our Naming Policy for DC Public Library Spaces and Programs. Our goal is to provide various ways to receive input from stakeholders. As such, we invite District residents to participate by completing the survey below by Apr. 30 and/or participate in any of the other input opportunities. The Board will review all input and make a final decision on the policy at an upcoming Board meeting.
How to Participate
To participate D.C. residents can:
1. Complete the Community Survey
Complete the survey embedded below or by clicking this link by Apr. 30. All responses will be kept confidential. Any information shared will be in the aggregate and not include any identifiable information.
2. Participate in an upcoming Board of Library Trustees Meeting
Sign up to give public comment at an upcoming Board of Library Trustees Meeting. Board of Library Trustees Meetings are held at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library. Upcoming meetings will be held on Wednesday, Mar. 23 at 6 p.m.; Wednesday, May 25 at 6 p.m. and Wednesday, July 27, 6 p.m. To give public comment you must follow the Library's Public Comments Procedures which you can review here.
3. Participate in a Virtual Community Workshop
Participate in a virtual community workshop on Thursday, Apr. 28 at 6:30 p.m. where D.C. residents can discuss and make recommendations about the Naming Policy for DC Public Library Spaces and Programs. Sign up for the virtual workshop here.
