Baby and Toddler Story Time

Monday, December 10, 2018, 1:30 pm

These 20-to-30-minute story times are full of books, songs, rhymes and finger plays for children birth to 2 years old. Our Baby and Toddler Story Time is a great way to introduce your child to language skills in a positive and fun environment. With slightly more activity and movement than our lap times, children and their grownups are encouraged to engage with the books and songs and to actively participate in the program.
Holiday Party!

Holiday Party

Wednesday, December 12, 2018 (All day)

Celebrate the holidays at an all day event! Kick off the event with a performance by DC Strings Workshop who will perform holiday classics beginning at 10:30 a.m. Afterwards, we’ll host the grand opening of the Deanwood Winter Village, a model village of the neighborhood, recreation center and library we share. We’ll have a small craft for the kids and movies through the afternoon. Apple cider and cookies while they last! Happy Holidays!

Knitting Club

Thursday, December 6, 2018, 2:30 pm

Are you an experienced knitter? Have you never knitted in your life but would like to learn? Do you crochet? All are welcome at Deanwood’s new knitting club. Bring your own needles, hooks and yarn, or borrow our needles while you’re here and use our craft wool. We can help you get started on a basic project and help each other through any tangles. There are no “instructors” here, just friendly faces who want to learn together. Bring your projects or just a curious attitude. Recommended for ages 9 and up.
