I flew solo tonight! That right, I was the only PAL dog in the library. So I lapped up all the attention. You can count on me to lounge, listen and love. That’s just what makes me Leo.

It’s summer! And one of my absodroodely favorite things to do is dive for rocks! I know, I know… It’s unusual. I hear that a lot. Most dogs like tennis balls and Frisbees in the water. For me, it’s stones, pebbles and rocks!  There is something mesmerizing about the way they form ripples in the water and then, go down, down, down deep into the water. It’s the coolest thing ever! You know, I reckon I should get scuba certified. Maybe when I turn four, which is a couple of months away! I read Scuba Diving by Valerie Bodden and couldn’t stop salivating! And then I read First Dive to Shark Dive by Peter Lourie and thought…. Aughhhhhh!!! SHARKS! No thank you.

I heard so many books tonight… My favorite one was Pilot Pups by Michelle Meadows… My imagination carried me away as I imagined soaring above the city, through the clouds. Maybe when I am five I can get my pilot’s license. I think I’d make a very good search and rescue dog.

Well, I had better go take a nap so that I can finish dreaming…

Ooops! I almost forgot, I promised Miss Julie that I’d report on tonight’s craft. You know, in case some kids were not able to come to the library to make one. So, here goes:

B-I-N-G-O Finger Puppet Craft

  • 6” piece of card stock or poster board
  • 6" piece of felt and five short pieces cut into strips
  • 1 glue stick
  • 1 pencil
  • Scissors
  • Stapler

  1. Glue the felt to the card stock.
  2. Trace or draw the letters B-I-N-G-O on the felt.
  3. Cut out the letters.
  4. Loop and staple one small strip of felt to the back of each letter. (Note: Make sure there is enough room for your finger to slide in.)
  5. Enjoy using the finger letters as you sing the B-I-N-G-O song. (Note: Remember to take off one letter after each verse and replace it with a clap!)

Go Blue!
