All hands on deck! That’s right. Hands within a six-foot radius should all make their way to me. I enjoy hands that rub and pat me. The more the merrier!

I brought Mr. and Mrs. to the library with me so that there would be at least two sets of hands on me most of the night. I rode in the middle, with Mr. to my left and Mrs. to my right. I spotted Miss Julie straight away when we pulled up to the Takoma Park Library. I knew at once it was going to be a great night!

There was a new PAL dog in the library tonight, a fine chap named Teddy. Poor Teddy was running late, so I held down the fort. They don’t call me Loyal Leo for nothing!

I heard at least a half a dozen doggie books; Dogs by Emily Gravett, Water Rescue Dogs by Frances E. Ruffin, Dog and Bear: Two Friends, Three Stories by Laura Seeger, Ten Dogs in the Window: A Countdown Book by Claire Masurel, Dog Breath: The Horrible Trouble with Hally Tosis by Dav Pilkey, and I can’t remember the other one – Old age?!

Well, not so old… I am three, turning four. In fact, my next birthday is on Tuesday, August 2, and I am scheduled to be one of Miss Julie’s guest dogs of honor that night. I LOVE people and I cannot wait to celebrate my fourth birthday at the Takoma Park Library with Miss Julie and all my friends next month. Oh, I do hope the kids remember to sing to the Birthday Boy!

Go Blue!
